The heart of social graces media
Grace (noun): The exercise of love, kindness, or good will; disposition to benefit or serve another.
Social Graces Media (SGM) is a boutique agency that specializes in social media, branding & digital marketing for you, as a creative or small business owner. Based in the beautiful southern city of Charlotte, NC, I strive to empower you with the knowledge, tools and resources in growing your businesses using contemporary marketing and advertising methods. Just as the dandelion spreads billions of seeds on the faintest of breezes, SGM helps you develop a holistic strategy so that your brand's message is shared across channels (this being the most beneficial form of engagement), resulting in an elevated presence that will help you reach your goals.
At the heart of my business is a desire to remain invested in my childrens' lives, while also devoting my professional experience to building a business that helps others realize their own entrepreneurial dream. As a twin-mom hustlin' for super-mom status and with a decade of experience in PR, marketing and event planning, the seed that would become SGM sprouted during a conversation. I was at a pivotal moment in my life & decided to take a leap of faith - I opened SGM in 2014 with nothing but a prayer and a laptop.
As a fellow entrepreneur, I am forging a similar path. I know how much time and effort it takes and I am keenly aware of how instrumental a support system can be. So, I want to do more than just teach you how, give you a plan and walk away. I want YOU & your business to be successful!
To do that, I not only provide FREE resources through the SECRET GARDEN (that you can save and use as you wish) but I've also launched an immersive INTERNSHIP opportunity, BLOOM, for a rather large subset of our society: the non-traditional adult students/professional learners. This population is either returning to the workforce, after an extended time away, are interested in expanding their professional portfolio to include social media & digital marketing techniques, or need a diving board to assist them as they jump into operating a creative small business on their own.
Last is an effort to build a community of like-minded individuals - a group of business-savvy professionals that you can connect with and learn from. These peers & mentors are invaluable to your overall success!
Grace is contagious...
Hi, y'all! I'm the SOCIALite behind Social Graces Media. I am also the founder, creative director, publicist, social media manager, graphic designer, web designer (yes, I built this site. by myself. be proud.), accountant, admin, content manager, etc. As a small business owner, I wear many hats. But we wouldn't have it any other way, right?!
I’m a proud southern belle (born in Alabama and raised in North Carolina) who was taught to appreciate the art of social graces & to embrace my natural affinity for conversation - this girl can talk! Needless to say, I have many interests & most of them tend to involve people. For example, in high school, I was in chorus, dance, art, drama, band AND cheerleading. Not even kidding. That's not counting the clubs or groups I was in, too. I specialized in socialization.
As fate would have it, when I was an undergraduate at UNC-Wilmington, I was invited to join a little-known social media site - you might have heard of it, it's called Facebook. Yep, "the Facebook" began as a medium for college students-only. Six months after I graduated, they deleted my account. Then came MySpace and I was all over that one, too. Well...that is until Facebook decided to open membership to everyone. I promptly broke up with MySpace to return to my first love. Today, I'm not even sure if MySpace exists anymore and social media has expanded to include mediums like Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat and the late Google+ (may it RIP). This timeline only covers a period of about eleven years but I've been involved since social media's earliest beginnings - pretty impressive for a girl that knows what records, tapes and bag phones are!
My professional background, combined with my history in social media, provided for a natural transition into social media for business. Despite it's reputation for constant change, social and digital marketing offer so many opportunities for businesses to benefit from. Not having a presence is not an option anymore. The goal is to learn how to creatively adapt & that's where I come in - I will show you how!
on a personal note...
I love a fabulous pair of heels but prefer a lived-in pair of distressed jeans and flops. My twins are my heart and soul; coffee is my sanity; music is my therapy; pink is my personality; all things sweet are an obsession (especially chocolate); fresh flowers make me smile; vanilla candles are heaven; and my creative outlets are DIY-projects, calligraphy, photography & painting. If I am able (which is rare these days), I renew my spirit with a trip to the ocean.
